When did God divide the land into continents?
After touring the Ark in Kentucky, we wondered about the timeline for dividing the land into continents after the flood.
God documents when He will divide the land
2 years after the flood, Arphaxad was born to Shem
35 years later, Salah was born to Arphaxd
30 years later, Eber was born to Salah
34 years later, Peleg was born to Eber
101 years after the flood Peleg was born
God documents His timeline
Genesis 11:10These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood: 11And Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters. 12And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and begat Salah: 13And Arphaxad lived after he begat Salah four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters. 14And Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber: 15And Salah lived after he begat Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters. 16And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg: 17And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters. 18And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu: 19And Peleg lived after he begat Reu two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters.
101 years after the flood Peleg was born
209 years Peleg lived
Sometime during the 310 years after the flood, God divided the land into continents
Why do you suppose God documented and preserved this information for you and me?
What do these words matter to you?
Do you agree with my math?
Our focus – Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God
Our challenge – Dearly Beloved,
Run with your eyes on Jesus alone!
Run in faith that Jesus loves you with an everlasting, unconditional love; has uniquely designed and created only one you; has a good plan for your life; runs with you; and will accomplish His purposes for you and through you!
Run in His strength alone!
Run being yoked to Emmanuel!
Run with your eyes on the prize!
Run with your focus on His mission: to conform you to the image of Jesus Christ!
Run with the desire to finish strong!
Run with the desire to finish with your lamp burning!
Run to obtain an incorruptible crown!
Run with the expectation of being in His physical presence when together you cross your finish line!
Run to His glory alone!
Run and keep on running!
