The emotions of Jesus Christ – compassion
In this series we examine the emotions Jesus Christ felt when He was on earth, limited to a time in history, a geographical place, and a human body that needed water, food and sleep. We will examine how He managed His emotions; and why His emotional experiences enable Him to understand everything you and I feel. He is our help in time of trouble.
Compassion- a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.
Situation #1 context
This situation happened after the 12 returned from going about two by two and Jesus took them away in a boat.
Mark 6:34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
What triggered the emotion of compassion in Jesus?
Why do you think Jesus saw the people as sheep in need of a shepherd rather than seeing them as rebellious creatures?
A shepherd gives provision, protection, direction and correction. Why do people need those things?
Your emotions are personal. What emotions do you feel from this account?
How did Jesus respond to His emotion of compassion?
What has Jesus been teaching you lately?
What does Jesus’ compassion and His response to that compassion mean to you?
Situation #2 context
This situation happened right after the Pharisees accused Jesus of casting out devils through the prince of devils.
Matthew 9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
What triggered the emotion of compassion in Jesus?
Your emotions are personal. What emotions do you feel from this account?
What connection do you see between the people’s need for a shepherd and the request to pray the Lord of the Harvest for more laborers in His harvest?
How did Jesus respond to His emotion of compassion?
What does Jesus’ compassion and His response to that compassion mean to you?
Situation #3 context
In this situation Jesus by the Sea of Galilee has just healed one who was deaf with a speech impediment and the people were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well.
Mark 8: 1In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples unto him, and saith unto them, 2I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat:
Was there a time when Jesus was hungry?
What triggered the emotion of compassion in Jesus?
Do you think Jesus did not eat for three days?
Your emotions are personal. What emotions do you feel from this account?
How did Jesus respond to His emotion of compassion?
Why did Jesus call His disciples? Do you think He wanted their opinions? Was He testing them?
Do you think the disciples noted that Jesus was concerned for the people’s hunger but did not express concern for their hunger?
Does Jesus sometimes focus your attention on someone else’s need for compassion?
What does Jesus’ compassion and His response to that compassion mean to you?
Situation #4 context
This situation occurred as Jesus left Jericho after declaring the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Matthew 20:30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David. 31And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David. 32And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you? 33They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. 34So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
What triggered the emotion of compassion in Jesus?
Why did Jesus ask the men what they wanted?
Is it important that they asked the Son of David for mercy?
Your emotions are personal. What emotions do you feel from this account?
How did Jesus respond to His emotion of compassion?
Is it important that Jesus touched them?
Do you notice the result was sight and immediately?
What does Jesus’ compassion and His response to that compassion mean to you?
What about Jesus feeling the emotion of compassion qualifies Him to be our great High Priest?
Lamentations 3:22 It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Let’s look at the recorded description of our High Priest in Hebrews 4:13Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. 14Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Our focus – Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God
Our Challenge – Dearly Beloved,
Run with your eyes on Jesus alone!
Run in faith that Jesus loves you with an everlasting, unconditional love; has uniquely designed and created only one you; has a good plan for your life; runs with you; and will accomplish His purposes for you and through you!
Run in His strength alone!
Run being yoked to Emmanuel!
Run with your eyes on the prize!
Run with your focus on His mission: to conform you to the image of Jesus Christ!
Run with the desire to finish strong!
Run with the desire to finish with your lamp burning!
Run with the expectation of being in His physical presence when together you cross your finish line!
Run to His glory alone!

When your heart is bruised
You and I live in a fallen creation. Sin and death have entered the world. Everyone is born with a sinful, rebellious nature. But when we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, He makes us new and gives us a new nature that desires to please Him.
Living in this fallen creation sometimes hurts. Things go wrong. Life is not perfect. Perhaps your heart is bruised because of disappointment, hardship, difficult circumstances, lose, rejection, malicious intent of others.
The good news is that your Creator, Jesus Christ, the One Who is all knowing, all powerful, love and truth became a man specifically to heal your bruised heart!
You remember the story recorded in the book of Luke. After spending 40 days overcoming the testing of the devil, Jesus Christ came to Nazareth and went to the synagogue on the Sabbath.
Luke 4:16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Jesus Christ was reading from the book of Isaiah, a prophecy written in the 8th century BC. Imagine! God knew so long ago that sometimes during your lifetime your heart would be bruised and He prepared and purposed a solution! How powerful and purposeful our Jesus Christ is!
Wow! Jesus Christ limited Himself to a time, a place, a human body so He could heal your broken heart and set you at liberty when you are bruised. What love! But let’s examine more closely what He is saying.
Heal = to restore, to make whole, to free from evil
Broken = torn, reduced to fragments, violated
Do you feel broken?
How will He heal your broken heart? Jesus Christ is the God of options. He is not limited to one method of healing. Perhaps He will turn everything around for you. Perhaps He will do something very unexpected. Whatever He does it will be unique for you. You are precious to Him and unique. He does not heal each of us in the same way.
Liberty =freedom from restrictions or hampering conditions
Bruised =injured; crushed
Jesus Christ limited Himself to a place, a time and a human body to give you freedom from the restrictions that hamper your living the abundant life He provides.
Notice there is no stipulation that you must earn the liberty!

Does Jesus Care? –Frank E. Graeff, 1901
- Does Jesus care when my heart is pained Too deeply for mirth or song,
As the burdens press, and the cares distress, And the way grows weary and long?- Refrain:
Oh, yes, He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares.
- Refrain:
- Does Jesus care when my way is dark With a nameless dread and fear?
As the daylight fades into deep night shades, Does He care enough to be near? - Does Jesus care when I’ve tried and failed To resist some temptation strong;
When for my deep grief there is no relief, Though my tears flow all the night long? - Does Jesus care when I’ve said “goodbye” To the dearest on earth to me,
And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks—Is it aught to Him? Does He see?
Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God

Jesus Christ and your emotions
We begin a series about emotions. In this series we examine the emotions Jesus Christ felt when He was on earth, limited to a time in history, a geographical place, and a human body. We will examine how He managed His emotions; and why His emotional experiences enable Him to understand everything you and I feel. He is our help in time of trouble.
Emotions are part of your body’s signal system. Emotions informs you about what is going on around you. In much the same way as nerve endings in your hand warn you the stove is hot, emotions warn you about what is going on around you. Your emotions are God-given. Emotions are neither right nor wrong of themselves. How you respond to your emotions can be wrong.
What are emotions?
Emotions are a valuable part of you!
You are entitled to your emotions!
Emotions are not a sin
Your emotions are personal (No one can tell how another should feel)
You are not responsible for anyone else’s emotions
Remember you are unique for His reasons – 1 Corinthians 4:6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.
Why do we have our emotions?
Emotions are part of your body’s signal system, neither right nor wrong of themselves.
(What is causing this feeling? – the present or the unresolved past?)
If you don’t control your emotions they will control you.
Control isn’t burying/suppressing emotion but to set boundaries around the emotion
Behavior reflects your response to your emotional signals
Does your behavior indicate you are in control or your emotions are in control?
When behavior reflects an emotion that is controlling you, the better response was not chosen
Negative emotions sap your energy – anger, fear, worry, jealousy, hurt feelings, envy, lust
– help you to blame others or things rather than taking responsibility for yourself
– signal a need to change your response to the emotion and take control
Emotional pain does not mean your relationship with Jesus Christ has failed.
Emotional pain does not make you a second class Christian.
Jesus understands each emotion you feel and He can help. Hebrews 2:5 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
No one understands like Jesus – John Peterson
No one understands like Jesus; He’s a Friend beyond compare.
Meet Him at the throne of mercy; He is waiting for you there.
CHORUS
No one understands like Jesus When the days are dark and grim.
No one is so near, so dear as Jesus; Cast your every care on Him.
No understands like Jesus; every woe He sees and feels.
Tenderly He whispers comfort, and the broken heart He heals.
No one understands like Jesus When the foes of life assail.
You should never be discouraged; Jesus cares and will not fail.
No one understands like Jesus When you falter on the way.
Though you fail Him, sadly fail Him, He will pardon you today.
Questions for reflection
- Does your behavior indicate you are in control or your emotions are in control?
- What are your emotions currently telling you?
When someone tells you that you shouldn’t feel that way, how do you respond?
Which emotion are you feeling most right now?
- Is your life short-circuited by a negative emotion? Which one?_____________
- Is your attitude self-affirming or self-degrading?
- What does it matter to you that Jesus took on human flesh like you?
- What emotion do you most often feel? Do you know why?
- What emotion is the most difficult for you to control?
- Is there an emotion you do not often feel? Do you know why?

Jesus Christ has His reasons for snow
It is winter. The meteorology forecasts are for heavy snow. Why is there snow we ask?
Jesus Christ recorded His reasons in the book of Job. The book of Job is one of the wisdom books; considered to be one of the oldest books of the Bible, although both the penman and the date of writing is unknown.
Job 37: 5God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
6For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
7He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
8Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
9Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
10By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
11Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
12And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
13He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
Certainly we understand the need of the land to rest in winter; the cycles of planting, growing, harvesting then resting.
Certainly we can understand the need of human beings for mercy.
All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23).
What do we understand of the need for correction?
John 17:1These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Questions for Reflection

What do you know about animals hibernating in winter?
What do you know about the planting and harvesting cycles?
Great is Thy faithfulness – Thomas O. Chisholm, 1923
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; there is no shadow of turning with thee;
thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; as Thou hast been thou forever will be.
Refrain:
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see;
all I have needed Thy hand hath provided; great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, sun, moon and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness to Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth. Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Our LORD God is both a sun and a shield!
Psalms 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
Sun overcomes darkness with light and warmth; melts what is frozen
Shield protects and defends
Genesis 15:1After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
Why do you suppose God told Abram (before he was renamed Abraham) not to fear?
Do you see a requirement for God to be your shield?
Psalms 115:11 Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.
Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Why do you suppose Samuel and David said the same thing?
2 Samuel 22:36Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.
Psalms 18:35Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.
2 Samuel 22:31As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a shield to all them that trust in him.
Psalms 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a shield to all those that trust in him.
More verses regarding the Lord God as our shield
Deuteronomy 33:29Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
2 Samuel 22:3The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
Psalms 5:12For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
Psalms 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
Psalms 33:20 Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
Psalms 59:11 Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
Psalms84:9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed. 10For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Psalms 119:114 Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.
Psalms 144:1 (A Psalm of David.) Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: 2My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.

What about your circumstances today causes you to desire His shield?

Song of Solomon’s Portrait of Jesus
Often we desire to see Jesus in person; to look on His face; to touch Him; to be with Him. The Bible documents these components of His physical attributes in Song of Solomon chapter 4:
Jesus is pure, viral, healthy10 My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.
Jesus is Sovereign, healthy, ageless. His hair is not gray, thin, receding or gone.
11 His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven.
Jesus is focused on you & your spiritual health, steadfast.
Doves have no peripheral vision. This indicates His perfect focus on you.
12 His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set.
His cheeks are sweet. His lips are fragrant with words of love
Remember the words of Isaiah 50?6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
When we see Him, will there be missing hairs from His beard? Did they pluck out the hair follicles, also?

Strong were your hands dear Jesus.Ah, would they had touched mine.
Ah, would they had touched mine

Are you looking for love?
How do you define love?
What is your experience with love?
Who has loved you most?
Let’s look at God’s love for you. Doesn’t it make sense that your Creator’s love should be an indicator of how you can define and identify love?
1) Quality of God’s love for you is unconditional.
There is no ‘I will love you if’.
There is no ‘I will love you when’.
There is no ‘I will love you until’.
2) Scope of God’s love for you is everlasting through all stages of your life
There is nothing you need do to earn God’s love
There is nothing you can do to diminish God’s love for you
Jeremiah 31:3The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
3) Power of God’s love for you is stronger than death
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
4) Cost of God’s love for you is free for you, cost everything for Him –
Your cost is explained in Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast
His cost is explained in Isaiah 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
5) Depth of God’s love for you is that of a father and His identity
Who is the Father?
2 Corinthians 1: 3Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
Mercy = not giving what is deserved
Comfort = relief and consolation; freedom from pain and anxiety
Psalms 103: 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
What does God’s love for you mean to you?
How can God’s love for you help in your current circumstances?
Do you really know God’s love for you?
Redeeming Love – Bill and Gloria Gaither
From God’s heaven to a manger-From great riches to the poor
Came the Son of God to seek and save
From the azure halls of heaven To a rough and rugged cross
Jesus came, and there His life for all He gave
From a loving, Heavenly Father To a world that knew Him not
Came the man of sorrows, Christ the Lord
In my wanderings He found me Bought my soul with His own blood
Gave to me a peace this world could not afford
[Chorus:]
Redeeming love, a love that knows no limit Redeeming love, a love that shall not die
My soul shall sing throughout the endless ages With choirs extolling this great love on high
My soul shall sing throughout the endless ages
With choirs extolling this great love on high
Redeeming love, redeeming love.
Redeeming love reaches out – claims – buys back – sets free – makes new
Dearly Beloved,
Run with your eyes on Jesus alone!
Run in faith that Jesus loves you with an everlasting, unconditional love; has uniquely designed and created only one you; has a good plan for your life; runs with you; and will accomplish His purposes for you and through you!
Run in His strength alone!
Run with your eyes on the prize!
Run with your focus on His mission: to conform you to the image of Jesus Christ!
Run with the desire to finish strong!

Run to His glory alone!
Run and keep on running!

Biblical Help When Life Comes At You
Three kinds of things happen to each of us on a regular basis. Sometimes it seems like they happen almost every day.
- Things we need serenity to accept
- Things we need courage to change
- Wisdom to know the difference.
The solution for overcoming what life throws at you is Jesus Christ.
Here are five questions with Biblical answers for you to ponder.
Q1 -How can you live one day at a time? Psalms 25:
8Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
10All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it isgreat.
12What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
13His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
By letting Jesus be Who He is: your teacher, your Guide; your forgiver
What can you do to be a better student?
Q2 – How can you enjoy one moment at a time? Philippians 4:
6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
1 John 1:
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
By giving your anxiety to Jesus; praising Jesus and accepting His forgiveness
What things keep you from giving Him your anxiety? Fear? Pride?
What things keep you from accepting His peace?
What things keep you from accepting His forgiveness?
Q3 – How can you accept life on God’s terms? Psalms 51
1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
By accepting His loving kindness, His tender mercies and His cleansing
How much mercy do you need?
How do you see His tender mercies helping you during hard times?
Q4 -How can you take this sinful world as it is, the way Jesus took it? Matthew 23:
34Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; andsome of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
35That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
36Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
37O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
James 4:
5Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse yourhands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
By drawing near to Jesus Crist and submitting to Him
How close to Jesus do you allow yourself to be?
Q5 – How can you trust Jesus Christ to make all things right? 1 Peter 5:
6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
11To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Ecclesiastes 3:
11He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
12I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
13And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
14I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
When we ask God to change us, He shares the responsibility with us
Why is so hard for you to accept God’s timetable?
Conclusion – Our ability to be successful no matter what life throws at us depends on our willingness to lean on, rely on, and completely trust our loving Savior, Jesus Christ. Would you agree?
