Are you dressed for success in the Armor of the Lord?- the sandals of peace
You and I have an enemy. We did not choose him. When we chose Jesus as our Lord and Savior, His enemy became our enemy. Your enemy wants to defeat you, destroy your testimony, steal your inheritance and take others down with you.
When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are saved from the penalty of sin, being saved from the very power of sin and someday will be saved from the very presence of sin!
The next piece of armor is the sandal of peace. The sandals of peace are inner peace and readiness to face every situation with God’s peace.
Ephesians 6
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
How can you have peace when your enemy attacks?

Advice from James-James 3:
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
Advice from Peter – 1 Peter 3:

Are you dressed for success in the Armor of the Lord?-the breastplate of righteousness

When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are saved from the penalty of sin, being saved from the very power of sin and someday will be saved from the very presence of sin!
The next piece of armor is the breastplate of righteousness. Ephesians 6:
The breastplate protects the heart. The heart pumps blood to every part of the body. The heart is a vital organ.
What does the Bible tell about the heart?
Jeremiah 17:
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Proverbs 23:
7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:
Jesus, your Lord and Savior, loves you unconditionally. Jesus desires for you to stand in the heat of battle – not to fall or to back down or to be injured. He knows the cunningness of your enemy – his wiles –and the fiery darts he throws at you. The Bible does not indicate your enemy can ready your thoughts. Your enemy is only a creature. But your enemy has had all of history to observe human behavior and craft his attacks.
Jesus has provided the breastplate of righteousness for you to stand and deflect all the fiery darts of your enemy, even in the midst of the battle.
Advice form Solomon-Proverbs 4:
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Advice from David – Psalm 119:
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee
Advice to the Romans- Romans 10:
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Romans 5:
Advice to the Corinthians-2 Corinthians 5:
Advice to the Philippians-Philippians 3:
7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
Advice to the Hebrews-Hebrews 11:
Advice from Peter-1 Peter 2:
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
Advice from Jesus-Luke 12:
21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Jesus experienced sin for us that you and I might experience His righteousness!
And Can It Be That I Should Gain – Charles Wesley 1707-1788
1. And can it be that I should gain
an interest in the Savior’s blood!
Died he for me? who caused his pain!
For me? who him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be
that thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! How can it be
that thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
2.’Tis mystery all: th’ Immortal dies!
Who can explore his strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
to sound the depths of love divine.
‘Tis mercy all! Let earth adore;
let angel minds inquire no more.
‘Tis mercy all! Let earth adore;
let angel minds inquire no more.
3.He left his Father’s throne above
(so free, so infinite his grace!),
emptied himself of all but love,
and bled for Adam’s helpless race.
‘Tis mercy all, immense and free,
for O my God, it found out me!
‘Tis mercy all, immense and free,
for O my God, it found out me!
4.Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
thine eye diffused a quickening ray;
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
my chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed thee.
5.No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in him, is mine;
alive in him, my living Head,
and clothed in righteousness divine,
bold I approach th’ eternal throne,
and claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach th’ eternal throne,
and claim the crown, through Christ my own.

Are you dressed for success in the Armor of the Lord?-Belt of truth
You and I have an enemy. We did not choose him. When we chose Jesus as our Lord and Savior, His enemy became our enemy. Your enemy wants to defeat you, destroy your testimony, steal your inheritance and take others down with you.
The first piece of armor is the belt of truth. Ephesians 6:
The belt holds all the other garments together enabling you to stand and to move. For the Roman soldiers all attire and equipment was tied together with the belt so they could stand in the heat of battle and move quickly and freely.
Jesus is the truth

Are you dressed for success in the Armor of the Lord?-introduction
You and I have an enemy. We did not choose him but he is our enemy. He wants to defeat you, destroy your testimony, steal your inheritance and take others down with you.
But Jesus has a different plan. Remember these words of Jesus? Luke 12:
25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Our Beloved Jesus has prepared armor for you. In this series we will examine the pieces and identify how you can use this armor for overcoming your enemy.
Why you need His armor
– Ephesians 6:
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Philippians2:
2 Corinthians 10:
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
Remember these Bible examples of the Lord fighting for His people?
1 Samuel 17:
2 Chronicles 20:
Meditate on the mentioned Bible verses and the words to this song.
The battle Belongs to the Lord by Jamie Owens-Collins
In heavenly armor we’ll enter the land
The battle belongs to the Lord
No weapon that’s fashioned against us shall stand
The battle belongs to the Lord
Chorus
We sing glory and honor
Power and strength to the Lord
(repeat)
The power of darkness comes in like a flood
The battle belongs to the Lord
He’s raised up a standard, the power of His blood
The battle belongs to the Lord
When your enemy presses in hard do not fear
The battle belongs to the Lord
Take courage my friend, your redemption is near
The battle belongs to the Lord

Questions for Reflection
1) What do these words ‘The battle is the LORD’s’ mean to you?
Remember LORD in all capital letters indicates Jehovah, the I AM, Yaweh, the Covenant Keeper
2) Is there a wile of your enemy that is particularly difficult for you?
Talk to Jesus about it. Ask specifically for His victory.
3) What does it mean to you that Jesus has prepared armor for you?

14 Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices.
Roes and young harts roam free among the mountains, leap over the abyss, and have energy
Mountains of Bether-probably not a specific physical location but rather indicating the difficulties are large and hard to overcome
Remember Jesus has made you free
John 8:
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Most often we hear this verse – repeated three times in the Song of Solomon – as a warning not to have sex until marriage. But let’s look again at the three different situations the maiden is in when this verse is given.
Song of Solomon 2: Response to the world’s allure away from the Beloved
Song of Solomon 3: Response to her failure to wait for His timing
Song of Solomon 8: The world should stop seeking to divert her love from her Beloved
How can you use the advice of this verse to keep yourself focused on Jesus?

10 I am a wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found favour.
Jesus accepts us, who else matters?
He will present His church without spot or wrinkle-Ephesians 5:
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
The Beloved reflects on His presence throughout her life
The maiden and the Beloved rejoice in their love –vs. 6-7
Love surpasses death
Fulfillment of their union
Triumph of His love over all enemies, obstacles, uncertainties

Baalhamon – lord of the multitude
200 = insufficient as in even 200 denari couldn’t feed the 5,000-John 6:7
Face-to-face the Beloved wants to hear your words vs. 13
13 Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken to thy voice: cause me to hear it.
dwellest = abide permanently
Do you see a relationship between the way Song of Solomon ends and the way the Bible ends?
Song of Solomon 8:14 Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices.
20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
I Shall Know Him – Fanny Crosby
1) When my life work is ended, and I cross the swelling tide,
When the bright and glorious morning I shall see
I shall know my Redeemer when I reach the other side,
And His smile will be the first to welcome me.
(2) Oh, the soul thrilling rapture when I view His blessed face
And the luster of His kindly beaming eye;
How my full heart will praise Him
for the mercy, love, and grace
That prepared for me a mansion in the sky.
(3) Oh, the dear ones in glory, how they beckon me to come,
And our parting at the river I recall;
To the sweet vales of Eden they will sing my welcome home,
But I long to meet my Saviour first of all.
Chorus: I shall know Him, I shall know Him
And redeemed by His side, I shall stand.
I shall know Him, I shall know Him,
By the print of the nails in His hand.

4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.

leopard- built for hunting, can run up to 35 miles per hour,
excellent climbers, swimmers and can leap and jump long distances;
often leaving their prey up in the tree for days and return only when they are hungry!
the most accomplished stalkers of the big cats,
good agile climbers and can descend from a tree headfirst
The lion symbolizes your enemy’s ability to remind you of the past and to frighten you for the future and about what others think of you.
The leopard symbolizes your enemy’s ability to spring at you speedily, to stalk you for vulnerability times, and to torment and wound you over and over.
But Jesus invites you to come with Him and focus on Him and trust in Him. He cares and loves you unconditionally!.

Face to face with Christ, my Savior – Carrie E. Breck (1855-1934)
Face to face with Christ, my Savior,
Face to face—what will it be?
When with rapture I behold Him,
Jesus Christ who died for me.
Chorus
Face to face I shall behold Him,
Far beyond the starry sky;
Face to face in all His glory,
I shall see Him by and by!
Only faintly now, I see Him,
With the darkling veil between,
But a blessed day is coming,
When His glory shall be seen.
What rejoicing in His presence,
When are banished grief and pain;
When the crooked ways are straightened,
And the dark things shall be plain.
Face to face! O blissful moment!
Face to face—to see and know;
Face to face with my Redeemer,
Jesus Christ who loves me so
